Want More?
Want more? Sure you do! So do we! For now, there's plenty to work on together below. Although they're in different categories, if you want a quick summary of God's relationship with you (and the rest of humanity), watch the video podcasts of Adam, then Abraham, then The Sower. Click on the CHARACTER NAME to hear an mp3 of his sermon.
Perspective:
ADAM: A Very Good Place to Start. (View video podcast.) This dramatic narrative sermon explores the early chapters of the book of Genesis and its truths surrounding our origins. Some of the themes we journey through with Adam are: God's power, imagination, and tender care in combining so much beauty, variety and flavor in creation; our role in bearing His image in caring for one another and for the Earth; the beauty and nobility of marriage; the nature of sin, temptation, and the tempter; and the lasting consequences of sin when we choose a way other God's.
JOHN ON PATMOS: Revelation. An aging Apostle John receives God's message of perseverance to believers facing a hostile, seductive world.
Covenants:
ABRAHAM: By Faith, Abraham. (View video podcast.). Faced with certain evidence to the contrary, Abraham believes God when he is called out of his home and family to establish a new nation through his offspring, even though he is already past 70 years old. God reveals more and more of Himself to Abraham along the way, as His promises increase in scale and Abraham's faith grows. We walk beside Abraham as our faith is tested as his, and we share with Abraham the wonder of growing trust in God because of the trials we walk through with Him. Abraham's refrain is, "What do you do when the Creator of the universe tells you to do something? You do it!"
MOSES: I Am, He Is, We Are. The insecure deliverer learns to trust in God rather than himself.
DAVID: Mountains High to Valleys Low. (View video podcast.) King David summarizes his life as a man after Yahweh's heart, peaking at God's covenant with him, only to sink to the depths of adultery and murder soon thereafter. Life lessons of faith, watchfulness, repentance and forgiveness flow from his story.
